The "look" of the irish

Saint Patrick was the foremost patron saint of Ireland. He was believed to have been a missionary in Ireland in the late 5th century. According to the confession of Patrick he was captured by Irish pirates from his home in Great Britain when he was around 16-years-old.  He worked as a slave in Ireland for 6 years, before escaping and returning to his family.

Why do we wear green?

Well, green is the color of the three-leaved shamrock plant, of course! It is said in the scriptures that St. Patrick used the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish.
